Sonic Division

Biography

Damian Politanski and Maciej Gapys, the Polish duo, form a formation well known as Sonic Division. Although they live far away from each other (about 300 km) it hasn't stopped them from producing music together. Their distance to the music trade, typical view of it and playing with sounds have both followers foes. But how the audience appraises them is not important. They often say : We don't aim at the liking, it's our style - the music will defend her own.

They have started making music with electro freestyle tracks. Since 2006 they have experimented with trance music,especially progressive. The breakthrough came on April 2007 when EP titled Painting the silence was released by Deep Blue Records. Soon, this track was supported by some big names, including Above and Beyond, Markus Schulz, Armin van Buuren and Cressida to name a few.

Next big step in their music career was signing their first contract with sublabel of Armada - Coldharbour Recordings. Panta Rhei , the track made with Lukasz Pych (Spychool), was one of the tracks released on 14th part of Markus Schulz's Colharbour Selections. 2007 seemed to be a good year for guys due to the fact they were discovered and supported by Markus Schulz. Their new remixes and own productions have made quite an impression on Coldharbour followers and finally, they were rewarded with a full EP release on the label, including 'Bulky Hero' (a multiple Global Selection winner, that got massive support from Markus Schulz for 6 months throughout all of his live sets and festivals, and supplemented with plays from DJs such as Andrew Bennett, Solarstone, Jon O'Bir, Aly & Fila, Gareth Emery, M.I.K.E., Cressida, Agnelli & Nelson) and 'If I Had Wings' (featured on Markus Schulz's compilation - Amsterdam '08).

So far their productions and remixes have been signed for labels, such as: Coldharbour / Armada (the Netherlands), Deep Blue (UK), Insatiable (UK), Well Mixed (Romania), Profuse (the Netherlands), Flashover (the Netherlands), Metallic (USA), Neuroscience (UK), Fraction Records (UK). Currently Damian and Maciej are working on new stuff, watch this space.
